This picture really speaks to the nature lover in me! I could see myself walking or riding a bike on this trail by myself soaking in the view and enjoying every minute. From the looks of this road, it is familiar and probably the road less traveled. I can picture this being in a family oriented country town where everyone knows everyone.
This type of picture has a deeper significance to me today after living life and making decisions. I thought about a specific scripture when I saw this picture. Matthew 7:13-14 Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. That is so profound! In my words, this means that there are particular paths that are taken by people all the time in life. You have the choice of which direction your life goes in. Just know, that the road always travel and the one most popular leads to destruction. Be unique and travel the road less traveled and find life!
I like to tell my girls, it's okay to be unique. Don't follow the crowd. Be a trendsetter. Stand out! Think outside the box. Be creative. Those are all characteristics of following the narrow path which takes you outside of your comfort zone. These things may not come naturally and you may have to push yourself, but your future will thank you! See society tends to make being different a problem or something that is weird. God made you who you are for a reason. If He made everyone alike, then this world would be boring. So embrace your difference and use it! Some of the most strange, different, and eccentric minds in the world used their differences to invent some of the most influential things in the world.
The opposite of that is settling, getting comfortable, being lazy, procrastination, doing what you see others do, not following your calling, fear, embracing lack of confidence (because it's not what everyone is doing) and not striving for greater. I don't know about you, but reading that list was depressing. I guess it has such a negative affect on me, because I have been a self made victim of them for years. I had to get to a point where enough is enough. I was tired of others seeing "potential" in me and not seeing "fruition" in my life. These negative things do no harness life, they halt life. Dreams can be a blessing but also a curse. If you're moving toward your dreams and actively pursing what is in your heart no matter what anyone thinks, you're winning. Dreams become a curse when it's in your heart and you have the desire, but let the negative stop you.
Which way will you choose today? I have heard so many regrets in my personal life and in those around me. I have heard those state that if I could turn back the hands of time. Some that say, "If I were young again." If that is you, it is not too late to start today and take your life the path you would like it to go. If you're still young, YOLO doesn't have to be reckless. You can take care of your body, go to college, practice abstinence, start a business, and be smart and show it! You do only live once here on earth, but take full advantage of the years you are blessed with.
I challenge all who are reading this to live, dream, and laugh in process! I challenge you to get financially stable, clear your credit, go to college, take that trip, start that business, etc. Create the life you want with no regrets!! Take the narrow path. It doesn't matter what people say, this is your life! I encourage you today because I am living my narrow path. I was off track and now I'm back. I am finally delivered from people, delivered from fear and insecurity, and delivered from being self induced unhappy. I am living my dream all because I made a decision to not only dream, but live my dream!
Be encouraged, until next time!
